Plot summary
Seth Winnick writes and produces a sitcom and has an Elvis fixation. At the wedding of their best friends, Larry and Holly Garnett, he meets Chelsea Turner, an interior decorator, even though he has brought another woman as his date, and the two leave together. Chelsea will not sleep with a man until they have had three meals, so Seth steers the evening through one activity after another. At the third meal she offers to sleep with him, but only if he is completely exclusive, and he agrees. They are happy at first, though Chelsea pushes the relationship forward faster than Seth likes. Four weeks in, she says she loves him; when he does not immediately say it back, she nearly ends things, and he says he loves her to stop her.
