Plot summary
In the Emmental village of Trub, Martha works as a seamstress and has reached the age of eighty. Since her husband died she no longer joins the Sunday card games, which worries her friends Lisi, Hanni and Frieda. They suggest that she take up a dream she has held for a long time. The four women turn the village corner shop into a boutique that sells lingerie, and the new business stirs up the community and unsettles its social routine.
