Plot summary
Drinking has cost Cory Brand his standing as a professional baseball player. Alcohol-related incidents, among them a car crash that hurt his brother Clay, push him into a rehabilitation program in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the town where he grew up. He enters Celebrate Recovery without enthusiasm, and Clay, whom he asks to meet at a barn on the family's deserted farm, urges him to keep trying. While he is home, Cory takes on the coaching of a Little League team; two boys on it, Tyler and Carlos, are best friends. He also runs into Emma, a woman he once dated. Cory wants his spot on the roster back.
