Plot summary
On the island of Bura, a village in Dalmatia is one resident short of the hundred people it needs to be declared a town, and the man at its head will do anything to find that last citizen. New regulations then reclassify the settlement as a city, and its temperamental residents have trouble with the rules the change brings. An Italian fashion designer arrives on the island with his favorite male model, and their visit adds to the confusion that already surrounds the village's new status. Misunderstandings spread among the main characters, and the storytelling keeps both realistic and surreal touches.
