Plot summary
Ernesto 'Che' Guevara steps down from his posts in the Cuban government in 1965 and makes a secret journey to Bolivia, where he hopes to spread revolution as he did in Cuba. Several Cuban volunteers travel with him. He reaches La Paz late in 1966, and by 1967 the group has raised a guerrilla force to fight the militarist Bolivian movement. Troops and supplies are few. Che's health is failing, and the people of the region largely do not share the ideals of a foreign troublemaker. Bolivia's army, supported by the United States, prepares to defeat him, and the odds against his force grow worse.
