Plot summary
What happens in the mountains, stay in the mountains. Giant Mountains are truly the spice of local highlanders who live here, whether any season. Skier with one leg, the legendary womanizer adorned with infertility, the bartender with a penchant for divination... And Pavka (Ondrej Pavelka), the oldest living member of a traditional cross-country Bulán family.

- As part of preparations for Padesátka, the actors had to undergo cross-country skiing training; Marek Taclík was coached by world champion Martin Koukal, who also appeared in the film in a cameo role.
- Vojtěch Kotek, making his directorial debut with Padesátka, shot certain parts of the film in two versions — one for cinemas and one for television.
- Part of the film was shot in the heart of the Krkonoše mountains with local residents taking part, and the cottage Albertovka mentioned in it cannot be found anywhere in Špindlerův Mlýn or its surroundings.
- Vilma Cibulková has no mole above her right eyebrow in real life; one was made up on her so that she would resemble Tereza Voříšková's older character as closely as possible.
