Plot summary
Elizabeth and Cally are twin sisters whose adult lives have gone in different directions: one is married with children, the other is single. For their thirtieth birthday they agree to switch places in secret, without telling either household. The prank turns into something far worse when one of the twins is killed. The sister who is left alive keeps the pretense going and moves into the other's home so that nobody learns what has happened. She is searching for whoever killed her twin, and she believes that if the truth came out, the rest of the family would be next.
