Plot summary
Alice Klieg lives on disability benefits and records every episode of Oprah Winfrey's show, watching on a television she keeps on day and night. Her psychiatrist treats her for borderline personality disorder. After winning a lottery jackpot, she decides to stop taking her medication and moves to a hotel at a casino, where her best friend Gina Selway joins her. A local news crew cuts short the remarks she prepared for her lottery appearance, so she takes her money to a studio that produces infomercials. Gabe Ruskin is on camera there, and his brother Rich manages the place. Alice offers them a check for a hundred live episodes of her own two-hour program and calls it Welcome to Me. Gabe doubts the idea can work.
