Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- At a 2017 awards ceremony, the writer Yuji Sakamoto — who had cast Masaki Suda in 問題のあるレストラン — told Suda he wanted to work with him again. Suda later asked for a love story, and Kasumi Arimura, star of Sakamoto's いつかこの恋を思い出してきっと泣いてしまう, was cast opposite him.
- Awesome City Club's 勿忘, heard in the film's advertising and trailer, was made after the film was finished as an "inspire song" described as one interpretation of the film — so it never plays in the film itself or in its end credits.
- When the film opened in China, its release expanded to 32 administrative regions, 3,700 cinemas and more than 10,000 screens — an exceptional scale for a recent Japanese film.
- As of March 2021, the film had recorded the highest box-office gross of any title ever distributed by Tokyo Theatres (東京テアトル).
- Kasumi Arimura said that she and Masaki Suda were together from morning to night almost every day during the shoot of about a month and a half, because the two had to portray five years of their characters' relationship.
