Plot summary
La Zona is an enclosed neighborhood in Mexico City, walled off from the shantytown around it and watched by cameras. On a stormy night a billboard crashes onto the wall and cuts the power, and three young thieves climb through the opening to rob a house. The residents, led by a community council, decide to handle the intruders themselves rather than call the police. Alejandro, a teenager whose father sits on that council, watches his parents argue over what the neighborhood has done. He finds Miguel, the third thief, hiding in the cellar of his own house, and brings him food without telling anyone.
