Adam Rifkin

Adam Rifkin is an American filmmaker and actor who has also been credited as Rif Coogan. A Chicago native, he studied at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, moved to Los Angeles and began writing scripts. As a writer he is best known for family comedies, including Mouse Hunt, Small Soldiers, Underdog and Zoom, and he also wrote Knucklehead for WWE Studios. His directing debut came with Never on Tuesday in 1989, and he went on to direct Detroit Rock City (1999), Night at the Golden Eagle (2002) and The Chase (1994). The New York Post named his film The Dark Backward (1991) one of the ten best of its year. He took small parts and cameos in his own pictures, including Night at the Golden Eagle, and played Croaker in Going Overboard (1989). He also wrote, directed and starred in Homo Erectus as the caveman Ishbo.
