Plot summary
A three-day mourning period brings the family of Moulay Hassan together after the Moroccan entrepreneur dies of a heart attack. His widow Aicha and their daughters Miriam, Kenza and Sofia are among the mourners. Sofia is estranged from the rest, having left Morocco years before to act in Hollywood. Her older sister Leyla had taken her own life years earlier, in part because Moulay refused to let her marry Zakaria, the son of the family's maid. Miriam and Kenza married Moroccan men their father approved of, men they do not love. Sofia's own marriage to an American is ending in divorce.
