Plot summary
The South Korean base at Nha Trang picks up a radio call on 07 January 1972 from a missing platoon presumed dead. High command orders Lieutenant Choi Tae-in, a decorated veteran with a record of insubordination, to take eight soldiers to R-Point, a strategic island near Saigon, and bring the missing men out within a week, promising the squad an early honorable discharge and Choi a clean record. Sergeant Jin Chang-rok is among the men. At R-Point a female Viet Cong fighter ambushes the squad, which finds a week-old corpse. A deserted French plantation then appears close to their camp, and Corporal Joh Byung-hoon, separated from the group, encounters soldiers he takes for his own unit.
