Plot summary
Robert, in his mid-twenties, has just joined the Milicja Obywatelska in communist Warsaw. His father Edward holds a senior post in the service and expects his son to follow him. Robert and his partner Wojtek work a case in which a killer is targeting gay men in the city. Not satisfied with the official result, Robert carries on with the investigation himself and befriends Arek, a German-language student, to get close to the men of Warsaw's gay scene, using him as an informant. Behind such cases lies Hyacinth, the service's operation to compile files on Poland's homosexuals and press them into cooperation.
