Plot summary

Katrin, a product designer, shares a Berlin house with her husband Jan and their children Max and Maja. Her work, the children and the household leave her overwhelmed. When Jan confesses that his advertising agency has gone bankrupt, the family can keep the house only if Katrin accepts an unrewarding contract to design the sanitary facilities of a design hotel. Past her limits, she finds an online offer of free testing for high-tech household androids whose appearance and speech the buyer can customize. Without telling anyone, she orders one, and the machine delivered is an exact copy of her. The double, called Kate, at first takes over her daily chores and even the shopping.
