Plot summary
Frank Zito is a young man with schizophrenia who took over the family mannequin restoration business after his mother died. As a child, his mother, a prostitute, made him watch her with the men who paid her. He kills women and attaches their hair to his mannequins. He joins a dating site and arranges an evening with a woman named Lucie. A photographer named Anna discovers the mannequins displayed in his storefront, admires how he restores them, and the two become friends. She asks him to help with an art exhibit she is putting together.

- Nearly the entire film is shot from the murderer's point of view, his face shown only in reflections and occasionally in the third person; because of that technique Elijah Wood had to be present nearly every day of filming, which is unusual.
- Wood said they did use a body double's hands in some scenes: a counterpart acted as his left or right hand, because he could not always use both hands naturally depending on where the camera was, so they held things and handed them off as if it were the same person.
