Plot summary
Edward Brezinski, born in Detroit, painted on New York's Lower East Side while the East Village art scene of the 1980s was forming around him. Ambitious and charismatic, he stayed on the fringe of the success he wanted, and his antics stirred the art elite. He worked in a neo-expressionist vein. Painters, gallery owners and friends who were part of that world recall the scene he moved through. The film also follows his trail to the Cote d'Azur, where he died, and draws on interviews with the people who were there, shot in New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Ireland, Berlin and France.
