Plot summary
Six months after the disappearance of her friend and roommate Natalie Ross, Amanda Rowe finally agrees to take in another roommate. Amanda has told the police that her ex-boyfriend Cameron is responsible for Natalie's disappearance, but nothing was proved against him. Zoe, who shares the house, rents Natalie's room out to cover the expenses, and the student Hayley Jones moves into the empty room. Amanda and Hayley are both college students, and the two become close. Each of the two students has an abusive man in her life: Hayley her father, Garret, and Amanda her violent ex-boyfriend, Cameron. When Cameron threatens Amanda, Hayley steps in and defends her.
