Plot summary
After fifteen years in prison, Juliette Fontaine moves into the home of her younger sister Léa in Nancy, where she will live under probation with Léa's family: her husband Luc, his father, and their two adopted daughters. Juliette spent the whole sentence without a single visitor, and their parents, who refused to acknowledge her, kept Léa away. Now she reports every other week to her probation officer, Capitaine Fauré, and looks for work. A former doctor, she keeps her past to herself and will not explain why she was imprisoned. Luc is uneasy about the children being near her, while Michel, a colleague of Léa's, is friendly toward her.
