Plot summary
Petr Kovár is a teacher in the present day, where his relationships have gone badly. He gets the chance to travel back to June 1989 and takes it, hoping to find Eliška, the classmate he considers his true love. The journey leaves him seventeen again in body while his mind stays that of a man in his forties. Back at school he has forgotten the tests and routines and how differently the school system worked. His opinions also bring him into conflict with the communists around him, even though he knows from the future that their regime will not last.
