Plot summary
In 2025, games are immersive enough that teenagers pick up real skills simply by playing. Maxine works at a factory that makes haptic inputs, and she steals one of the devices. Once the haptics are switched on, her favorite rabbit-ninja fighting game turns far more punishing, and the new technology beats the game's fighting moves into her muscle memory. She has to level up quick, because her employer discovers the theft from the job.
