Plot summary
In the late 1970s, fourteen-year-old Greta Driscoll starts at a new school. There the eager Elliott, whom she likes, becomes her friend, while three girls, Jade, Sapphire and Amber, draw her into their group even though she does not like them. Greta clings to her childhood and the comfort it holds for her. Her mother, worried that her daughter has no friends, decides to invite the whole school to a fifteenth birthday party. Greta is against the idea at first, then lets it go ahead. At the party she is flung into a parallel world, one that turns weirdly erotic, violent and ludicrous.
