Plot summary
Susana is engaged to Isaias, a friend of Rodrigo's, and her wedding day is still ahead. Rodrigo tunes pianos for a living; he once composed music and has fallen on hard times. He begins an affair with Susana anyway. When a bomb in Medellín nearly kills the two of them, they surrender to their attraction. She keeps him in her apartment above the city, and night after night she tells him the story of a different man from her past, so that he becomes one more fragment of her love. Her stories inspire him to write music again.
