Family Weekend (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Emily Smith-Dungy is her school's speed rope-jumping champion and a general overachiever, and at home nobody pays attention to her wins. On Friday she takes the regional title and earns a place at the state championship the coming weekend, then looks into the audience and finds no one from home there. At dinner she asks her mother Samantha, her father Duncan, her brother Jackson and her sister Lucinda to take her jump-roping seriously, and all four remain absorbed in their own concerns. Inspired by a nature program her younger brother Mickey is watching, in which Tasmanian devils are sedated so they can be treated, Emily slips her mother's sedatives into her parents' wine and restrains them in chairs. With Jackson, Lucinda, her grandmother GG and her friend Kat, she sets about teaching her parents how to parent.
