Plot summary
Factory work in São Paulo keeps Silmara busy, and her colleagues and friends there look to her for direction. Her wages support her father, Antero, an arsonist who has served time and cannot get hired. After her shift she retreats into fantasy with her friends and admires two singers, the pop idol Bruno and the romantic Luís Ronaldo. Antero lands a job with the lawyer Dr. Vargas, and from that money he hands Silmara enough for Bruno's concert at Clube Alvorada. She goes with her friends and, when the show finishes, meets Bruno himself. He asks her to come along with the band to a performance in Itanhaém, while Antero leaves for a gardening job in São José dos Campos.
