Plot summary
Steven and his wife Nancy live in Goa with Steven's mother and are saving to buy a flat of their own. Their plans stall when Steven's father dies, and Steven takes charge of the funeral himself, letting the relatives know. His brother Brian, a successful novelist based in Mumbai, arrives along with the rest of the guests. Most of those attending would rather hear Brian deliver the farewell speech, but Brian has prepared nothing and expects Steven to do it. Each time Steven tries to begin, an interruption stops him. A short man, Andrew, then asks Steven for a private word.
