Plot summary
For years Colin and Howie have competed with each other. They are brothers-in-law, drive for the same company, are married to sisters, and live next door on a suburban street. When Howie is promoted at work, he faces a difficult decision about staff cutbacks. At home, the festive season brings another contest: Colin decorates the front of his house with Christmas lights, and Howie answers with a larger and brighter display. Their rivalry escalates into a battle of lights and neon that puts both households at risk, and the two families lose sight of what the holiday is meant to be about.
