Trailer

Plot summary

In the year 2125, Earth holds 18 billion people and settlements spread across the Solar System. Work to melt the Martian poles uncovers vast ground designs like those at Nazca. Millicent Willem, a space linguist on the Mars project, travels to Minerva Base, which orbits Jupiter, to see Chief Engineer Eiji Honda, who runs the Jupiter Solarization project. She argues that visitors came 100,000 years ago and left carvings on Earth, the Moon and Mars, and that their messages hint at a key inside Jupiter's Great Red Spot. She asks for his help on a research trip. When Honda shows a delegation from Earth how Jupiter would be turned into a star to supply power to the colonies, Jupiter Church protesters interrupt the tour, and Honda recognizes Maria, a former lover, among them.
