Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Blue Jasmine (2013)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Woody Allen refused to release Blue Jasmine in India at all, because Indian regulations require a warning blurb superimposed on any scene showing a character smoking, plus health warnings at the start and end of the film.
- Jasmine's wardrobe had to work on a costume budget of only $35,000, so costume designer Suzy Benzinger used her and Woody Allen's connections with fashion houses like Fendi, Chanel and Hermes to borrow expensive pieces instead of buying them.
- Designer Karl Lagerfeld supplied two identical white Chanel jackets for Cate Blanchett's character: one kept pristine for the flashbacks to her wealthy New York life, and one that Benzinger deliberately aged by soaking it in fabric softener for the San Francisco scenes.
