Plot summary
The marriage of Marcos and Ana has lasted more than twenty-five years in Buenos Aires, where they raised their only son, Luciano. They have spent those years as parents, putting their son's needs ahead of their own. When Luciano, now an adult, leaves the family home to attend university in Madrid, the absence leaves the couple alone together, and they find they have little in common. Once they have had time to think, Marcos and Ana agree to divorce and go their separate ways. Marcos settles into a friend's apartment, where he is pushed to start dating, while Ana takes pleasure in her independence. The two meet occasionally and share memories of the marriage they left behind.
