TMNT (BD)
Amazon.com
From a visual standpoint, this CG feature starring the venerable '80s and '90s superheroes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is nothing short of slam-bang; the computer animation has a scope and look that transcends both the original comics and animated series and the three live-action features that preceded it. Writer/director Kevin Munroe creates a striking animated world for the four heroes in a half-shell to live, play, and fight in, and the action sequences are occasionally breathtaking in their speed and complexity. But where TMNT stumbles is its bland plot, which picks up after the last of the live-action features with all four teen turtles in disarray, and abandons longtime villain Shredder in favor of an industrialist (well voiced by Patrick Stewart) who recruits the Foot Clan (including Karai, played by Zhang Ziyi) to revive thirteen ancient monsters to aid in his world domination scheme. It's a simple and fun story for kids, but longtime Turtles fans will miss the wry humor and smart sense of irony of the original comics (created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who gets an executive producer credit here) in this storyline. Still, for most adolescent audience members, such concerns won't matter a whit in the face of the abundant action. --Paul Gaita

This is pretty much a stand-alone movie. Some would say it comes after the live-action trilogy from before, but that is not case. (Splinter has both ears and they don't live at train station) There is part where they show their trophy case, and there are items that relate to the other movies, but then there's the canister that says TCRI (from series and novels) instead of TGRI (from the second live-action movie). Confusing...
The CGI is excellent, and pretty famous voice actors: Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Stewart, Kevin Smith, Ziyi Zhang, and Mako, in his final role, as Master Splinter. Laurence Fishburne narrates, and Kevin Michael Richardson, who plays Shredder in the new CGI TMNT series on Nickelodeon, plays the villain General Aguila in this film.
The film is well done, well paced, but it may confuse those who have no knowledge of the turtles, and even those who do as there are continuity issues (references to both the live-action movies and series). If you can look passed that, this movie is quite enjoyable, and as I said before, this movie has great CGI! Very reccommended!

The plot was cool - I like how they used a comic book ally (Karai) besides having the Shredder come back to life *again*. And I like how the Turtles kind of went and did their own thing when Leonardo left to go find himself in South America. Sure, they remained in the same home, but rather than fighting crime, they all went and got jobs. Well, save for Raphael. Then again, this struck me as a little odd since in past movies, the Turtles were encouraged by Splinter to not let themselves be seen publicly. Sooo, now that's okay? That threw me off a little.
I don't want to spoil it too much for folks who have not seen it, so I'll just say that it is a really good animated film and if you like the Ninja Turtles, it's a pretty nifty film.
(just a personal preference, 3D has kind of always been a make or break quality to watching something.)
This is also 3D just in case I lost you on my rambling there.
I really enjoyed this movie, quite a voice cast and the fights were pretty great.
I don’t know if this is a tribute to some arc or story in the comics or in a video game but it was a fun story, and an interesting watch. The art style didn’t appeal to me at first with some characters, the turtles actually.
But at some point it really grew on me.

Being of the older generation of fan, it has been a long time since I've seen the turtles on the big screen and I can happily say that I really liked this film from start to end.
The film is dark and gritty looking, like I remembered the first motion picture film being but the turtles have never looked so good, they are leaner, slicker and the fast past action/fight scenes are very well through out and choreographed. With snappy one-liners and tong in cheek comments with a great universal appeal.
I think the highlight of the film for me is the fight scenes on the roof top in the rain.
This is a great family film for all ages and looks stunning in 1080p.

Naja und was soll man sagen: WOW!
Das will was bedeuten!
Fazit:
KAUFEN!!! KAUFEN!!! KAUFEN!!!
I wont bore you with plot synopsis here, you can read that anywhere. Just let me list my top three reasons why i think this movie rocks!
1. Leo & Raph's rain drenched rooftop fight. Something a lot of fans, have waited a long time to see, sibling rivalry finally boils over in the only way it can, when those brothers happen to be Ninja. Beautifully animated, choreographed, & full of dramatic tension, this is the real highlight of the movie.
2. Raph's diner battle with the Jersey Devil. Violent, funny & a real pleasure to watch. That its soundtracked by Ram Jam's "Black Betty" (albeit a new cover version.) only adds to the awesomeness!
3. The voice cast. Patrick Stewart, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chris Evans and the late, great Mako ( Conan- the Arnie ones!) lending his distinctive pipes to Splinter. 'Nuff said! Highly recommended, its like Turtles 3 never happened. Which can only be a good thing!
