The set of DVD's is awesome. 1 disc is killer instinct, the other is public enemy #1. the other 2 discs are the original score and the original motion picture soundtrack. 16:9 anamorphic widescreen. its a must see set of movies for any fans of Vincent Cassel, for it is a tour de force acting perfomance by the great french actor. the seller did everything they could to make sure i was happy. considering the regular U.S. release wont be until the end of February 2011 i found it incredible to own this set! 5 stars for sure!!

Discovered this great movie as a trailer for "Girl with Dragon Tattoo" and could not stop watching the trailer! Found this region free four disc dvd/cd on Amazon...and boy howdy, I was not disappointed!! This French film (in two parts) is AWESOME!!! Why can't they release a region free blu-ray? This DVD has outstanding picture quality (anamorphic 2.35) and awesome sound (French with English subs)with plenty of bass. Got this under twenty bucks and by looking at other prices now, glad I took advantage of the fantastic bargain!! This movie puts "The Godfather" to shame. BRILLIANT!!! Get it while you can...

Excellant With One Major Flaw

This film has great acting by Vincent Cassell and all suuporting characters, great story-telling & directing. Gerard Depardieu is a very scary gangster! However, the Director seems to assume that the audience already knows the story (I had never heard of Jacques Mesrine before), and gives away the ending at the start of the film! How much more intense and exciting the last 15 minutes of Part 2 would have been had the outcome not been revealed at the start of the film! That extremely poor editing choice makes an otherwise great film much less so! Even with real characters, there is a vast audience that does not already know the story, and it would have played out much, much better in normal sequence. The other minor complaint is that some of the sub-titles flashed on the screen for such a short time that I had to back track and pause to see what was said on 4-5 occasions. That said, the acting is so good and the directing so good, that I still recommend this film. I do not think some of the reviews are of this particualr set. This is a excellent print and high quality DVD package. The quality of the transfer itself is excellent, with a CD of the Soundtrack and CD of the Music in additon to both Parts of the film. Compared to the price of getting both films separately, the price is reasonable as well.
