I have watched more than my share of concerts but aside from the excitement of the live Beatles in 1965, this is at the top of perfect performances. I never tired of viewing it. The harmony, honesty, simplicity, perfectionism, and sense of collective Americana of a time and place has never been rematched. My heart opens, breaks, and rejoices but never is distracted. You can't help but be transformed.

This video provided a wonderful journey down memory lane. I owned the vinyl record of Simon and Garfunkel the concert in Central Park when I was in high school. Was so pleased to be able to get this at a reasonable price because I bought it used. I am more than satisfied with my purchase. In my opinion Simon and Garfunkel is the greatest duet of all time. A music fan cannot go wrong listening to songs written by a master wordsmith in Paul Simon while Art Garfunkel offers the listener a classic beautiful tenor voice. The harmony between them is so perfect I like to call them singing together the Simon/Garfunkel voice because it sounds like a voice of its own. This is definitely a five star purchase.

I listened to Simon & Garfunkel's music growing up in the seventies, but saw this concert on PBS, and bought both their Greatest Hits and Concert CDs afterwards. The DVD is enjoyable to watch, although I notice they took out the song where some nut charges Paul Simon during one of his solo songs, which wasn't a loss anyway (I speak of that song in the DVD). The song list is excellent, the performance as a whole is enjoyable to watch, and both of their voices are spectacular, to say the least. The only really jarring note is their lack of maturity as demonstrated by their on stage behavior. I am not one of those who seem to feel that the artistic temperament or the pop psychology self justification argument justifies such childish and unprofessional behavior, and it was a relief to see that they behaved in a much more mature fashion on their Old Friends tour and DVD. Which DVD/show is better is a subjective judgement, but this is an excellent show and this DVD is worth the price.

A truly wonderful concert! A tribute to the true poets of the 60s. The concert includes many of the best loved compositions from the S&G years: Mrs. Robinson, The Boxer, America, The Sound of Silence. It is truly a gift from the past. Drama here too: an ominous moment when Paul is singing about Lennon's death (The Late Great Johnny Ace) and an audience member rushes him--he finishes the song fine. What is most enchanting is to see the two of them enjoying themselves, and enjoying each other. For all of those (like me) who have worried about whether friendship survives after the breakup (so many of them) of the great acts of the 60s, it is wonderful to see these two pat each other's backs. They enjoy each other, and the music shows it. Marvelous concert!

Awesome historic concert from the best Folk Rock duo ever. I had the Central Park concert on tape since the 80’s but finally got to see the video on DVD. Great to see them two easygoing troubadours perform in almost perfect harmony, beautiful songs, timeless!
There was an opportunity to see them live in a small venue in Montreal in early 2010 on a Canadian Tour but the concert got cancelled...:-(

確かに映像はビデオよりは綺麗ですが、この頃はまだデジタル録画ではないので多少のノイズがあり、再生時の音も小さめです。
字幕は英語のみなので、表示しておくと英語の勉強にはなるかも知れません。
とにもかくにも永久保存版です。
