Malicious (Bully Me Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 196 ratings

Oliver Conley….

The most infuriating man I’ve ever met.

He’s crass, selfish, malicious. The worst kind of person.

From our very first encounter we were at odds. Standing on opposite ends of the battlefield preparing for war.

He didn’t care for me.

I despised him.

Until one day things started to change….

I didn’t want to want him. Hell, I hated myself for it.

And yet, there I was, falling hard for a man I had sworn as my mortal enemy.

But as time passed, I started to see him differently.

I started to see beyond the perfect exterior he exuded.

I started to see him.

But how can you truly know someone who’s spent their entire life hiding behind a façade?

Lines are drawn.

Secrets are revealed.

I fell right into this story and enjoyed it until the very last page. In a year where slow burns rule, I was so beyond happy to find a story that didn't make me wait until the very end of the book for the characters to finally get together. Oliver and Savannah were a breath of fresh air! Their back and forth banter was hilarious and built the tension between the two. Once that tension exploded the two were pure fire together! There were times I wanted to strangle them for their a$$holish and stubborn behavior and times I wanted nothing more than to hug them both until all was better. They each struggled with their own personal issues as well as learning to navigate college and a new ever-evolving relationship with each other. Throw in friends that kept the laughs rolling and antics that made them all blush blended with the harsher side of life where vulnerability and anger can sometimes take its toll and you have the makings for an amazing story. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started Malicious but in the end, I enjoyed these characters, the lessons they learned, and the growing pains that helped them all to find their way.

Edited to add I did NOT read Treacherous first. I had no problem reading Malicious. While I do see how having the backstory of the characters from the first book could enhance the reading of this book, I do not feel it's a requirement.

Malicious is this read that you won't be able to put down. The emotions run high the entire read. This is Oliver's book and you will love the changes he goes through in this. Oliver has a lot of anger. He lashes out and hurts people he cares for. As you get to know him though you get why he pushes everyone away. You see such a caring and loving side of him in this one. There is such a fine line between love and hate and that is exactly what Savannah and Oliver walk. Savannah is so sweet but you start to get her insecurities and your heart just wants to reach out to her. The struggle she goes through just brings tears to your eyes. Oliver and Savannah once they drop their walls have this beautiful yet toxic love at first. You will both hate and love Oliver. Your heart will want to reach out to both. By the end of this book I applauded Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen for the heart-aching angst filled beauty they brought. You get the feels and I love that. In order to get the full feels though I would read Treacherous first so you can get the full picture of who is Oliver and Savannah. I really couldn't put this one down and devoured it in one sitting. Wow! Enemies to lovers!! I love this troupe!

It is amazing to read the chemistry between Savannah and Oliver in the beginning when they 'hate each others guts'. The tension between them could be cut with a knife. The way they both resort to insults to mask that attraction was funny while reading.

It was also interesting to see what were the underlying issues that they both had to deal with towards getting better. The things they go through will have you feeling for them and encouraging them to get better.

Malicious is well written, the characters are developed and it is a great read. I did not read book 1, - which I am going to do now - it is a standalone so it is not an absolute that you need to read book one, Treacherous- but I am curious to find out what Oliver did to his stepsister that was so mean.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Steamy, Wonderful characters

If you haven’t read Treacherous I recommend you start there and then read Malicious. With that being said, I enjoyed Oliver and Savannah’s love/hate relationship and journey so much more. These two characters have so many flaws and issues that they are perfect for each other. The story is intense and is one that will keep you interested throughout. I do feel that there could’ve more but nonetheless a story I will recommend.

Super excited for this follow up story by Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen!

I fell crazy hard for this crew in the first book Treacherous. The characters pulled me in with their back and forth drama, their amazing personalities, and the obvious love they developed.

It was a no brainer that I would fall hard for Oliver and Savannah too.

There are few things that are better than a couple who start off hating each other only to find they can't live without one another.

Separately, they each have their own issues but in each other they find the strength and courage to face their demons and heal.

This was 4-5 hours of good reading that made me wanting more from these friends in the end.

Who knows maybe Charles will get his own story!

Besides Oliver and Savannah, you frequently get Rylee and Zayden in the mix, kind of like seeing updates to their relationship. Their story, while secondary, is very intertwined with Oliver and Savannah just because the group is so close.

Highly recommend this read. You don't have to read Treacherous first, but I would as there may be some things you question through out.

5 Stars all the way!

Oliver....the boy/man you loved to hate in Treacherous. I mean....I REALLY, REALLY hated him. I went into this story with that hate....and it took me a few chapters to pull myself out. Arrogant? Check. Egomaniac? Check. Just a horrible dude? Check....until he wasn't. I mean sure, he's truly not the nicest guy, BUT he may have some very valid reasons for that. It will take a very strong woman, AND some very strong friends to put aside some strong feelings and get to the nucleus of the problem. Savannah may or may not be that strong woman, but boy oh boy, she hates him more than I do lol. In the end, this man/child who has a temper when things aren't quite going his way will end up with a few reality checks that will either make him or break him...they may break Savannah too! In the end, I completely devoured this story and enjoyed every last angsty moment.
